Cambridge News: ‘University is part of me – that’s my edge’

Cambridge-News.co.uk’s Chris Elliott talks to one of the contenders to become the new Chancellor of Cambridge University – Lord Sainsbury:

“Lord Sainsbury says he personally has many reasons for wanting to be the university’s Chancellor, replacing Prince Philip, who stepped down earlier this year after 34 years in the role. He studied history and psychology at King’s College between 1959 and 1963, and he has an abiding affection for the city and the university: fond memories of arriving for his interview at King’s and seeing E M Forster striding through the college; helping to put together the undergraduate magazine Cambridge Opinion; studying under the brilliant pioneer of psychology Richard Gregory; shivering, romantically, with fellow student lodgers in a disused pub in Norfolk Street during the apocalyptically cold winter of ’63.”
